The Veterinary Technology Program was the first-degree program organized when Tomball College opened its doors in the summer of 1988. Obtaining its initial accreditation status in 1990 and graduating its first class in the spring of 1990, the program has grown significantly. Today the program accepts 48 entry-level students each fall. Students are required to have obtained college-level course status before entry into the two-year, 71-credit-hour course of study. The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology requires 5 semesters in the classroom/laboratory with the sixth semester being spent off campus completing the Clinical - Veterinarian Assistant/Animal Health Technician. Classes include lectures in the mornings and practical hands-on laboratories in the afternoon. Although the veterinary technology classes are offered Monday through Thursday, the school remains open seven days a week for student convenience.
